It is yet another worthy opportunity for me to felicitate with all members of Egbe Bobakeye (Okunrin) Akile - Ijebu and send you this goodwill message as a token of my support and unalloyed solidarity with your achievements and noble aspirations.
I am particularly delighted to note that your Annual General Meetings are not merely patterned rituals but well package occasions not only to celebrate your lofty achievements of the previous years to plan and strategize for future attainments, but also to fulfil all corporate ethics of laying before the members the reports and accounts of the previous year.
It is thus with great pleasure that I express profound appreciation for the trailblazing roles of the Egbe Bobakeye (Okunrin) Akile - Ijebu in virtually all facets of developmental activities in Ijebuland. Your roles in the promotion of Economic Political and Social values within Ijebuland and the entire state as a whole are quite laudable and commended for emulation by other age grades.
I cannot but also appreciate the stabilizing roles of our beloved Kabiyesi, Oba (Dr.) S.K. Adetona CFR. JP, Ogbagba II, The Awujale, and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, who has given the desired balance to economic, cultural, social and political life of the entire Ijebuland, thus fostering the requisite benchmarks for establishment of peace, prosperity, harmony and progress in the land.
While it indeed cannot be denied that it is time to roll out drums and make merriments, it is of equal importance that we keep the basic objectives of the Egbe in focus and unwavering without losing sight of the road maps necessary to lead to actualization of the set aspirations.
I wish to seize this auspicious occasion to urge the Egbe Bobakeye Akile - Ijebu to do more in the area of leveraging on the global development in the practice of ICT to further empower the youths, and liberate them from the grip of the prevailing criminal tendencies. Youth empowerment as the saying goes is our investment in tomorrow.
To this end, the Egbe may consider the necessity of establishing ICT centers across the while 'region' with the primary focus of re-orienting the youth and empowering them to take worthy vocations as a desirable alternative to idleness and other forms of social ills that come with it. It is noteworthy to keep the admonition of Benjamin Franklin in mind, to the effect that “An investment in knowledge always pay the best interest".
I dare to say, our lofty Egbe has done wonderfully well in the delivery of good socio-cultural values to the community, it must however be noted that community service is never exhausted; it is refreshed by one noble attainment to another. Our Egbe, as the torch bearer of a new era human emancipation ought to keep striving to ensure that this noble brotherhood, by its ideals and pursuits effectively transcends the sovereignty of ijebuland and our Nation as a whole.
Finally, I am fully persuaded that with the unwavering efforts of leadership of our Egbe, an support of our loving Kabiyesi, and all other members of Ijebu community, the Egbe is guaranteed to soar beyond the skies.
I wish you all Eid Mubarak and the colourful blessings of the Yuletide season.
