Otunba (Giwa) Abiodun Onanuga, a distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Building (FNIB), is the Chairman/CEO of NUGACON Construction Company, a limited liability company engaged in the construction of residential, industrial and institutional buildings in Nigeria. Nugacon has contributed enormously to the development of the building industry and the training of professional students at various levels in the industry.

 

Giwa ‘Biodun Onanuga is the supreme head of Egbe Bobakeye Akile Ijebu both at home and in Diaspora. As one of the founding members of the Age Group (1956-1958), he was elected unopposed as Giwa in 1996. Under his leadership the organisation has produced a State Governor (former Governor of Ogun State- Otunba Gbenga Daniel), Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Members of National and State Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, State Commissioners, Federal / State Special Advisers, top government functionaries and successful business men both home and abroad. In addition, some of the members of the Bobakeye age-group are now Oba Alayeluwas in Ijebu land that includes: Alaperu of Iperu, Ebumawe of Ago iwoye, Obiri of Aiyepe and Gbegande of Ososa.

 

The vision of this Egbe is to unify the whole of Ijebu-land through membership from Ikorodu to Remo,  Ijebu Water-Side including Epe and Lekki to achieve the proposed long-overdue Ijebu State and put smiles on the faces of all Ijebus.  Some of the egbe landmarks are all over Ijebu-land and that includes:

 

• Bobakeye (renovation & provision of equipment) Trauma/Orthopaedic Ward at General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode 

• Contribution towards the construction of Adolescent Centre, Ijebu-Ode 

• Awujale Royal Archway

 

Over the past 18 years of the organisation, membership has grown immensely and still growing, with the development and expansion of the Ule Egbe in GRA, Ijebu Ode, where members meets regularly. 

 

Otunba Abiodun Onanuga is highly reputable, admirable and a pleasant personality. He is also a member of other notable organisations which include: Heritage Club (Ijebu Ode), Ikoyi Club 1938, Island Club, (Lagos)  Chamber of Commerce (Nigeria-British) and many more. He is happily married with children.
